Collingwood Appraisals Ltd. is an independent real estate appraisal and consulting firm centrally located within Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. The firm was established in 1972 in Burnaby, and 2017 marked our 45th anniversary. The company has two offices located in Vancouver and Surrey with satellite offices in Victoria serving Vancouver Island and Terrace serving north-western BC including Haida Gwaii.
The firm offers appraisal and consulting services on all types of commercial, industrial, investment, and residential properties throughout British Columbia, with activities principally centered around Greater Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.
Experience, competence, and reliability are the hallmarks of our firm. Our services range from short, concise form reports to comprehensive, detailed narrative reports. All of the professionals associated with our firm are members in good standing with the Appraisal Institute of Canada, and have a wide range of real estate valuation expertise. Two of our associates hold the Certified Reserve Fund Planner (CRP) designation from the Real Estate Institute of Canada and are qualified to conduct Depreciation Reports and Reserve Fund Planning. As such, we are well qualified to handle any type of real estate appraisal or consulting challenge.
Our range of services include point in time valuations, valuations for expropriation matters, valuations for litigation matters, market rental appraisals, market studies, feasibility analysis, highest and best use analysis, property identification studies, real property negotiations, insurance appraisals, replacement cost reports, depreciation reports, property assessment appeals, and other consulting related assignments.
Over the years our advice and reports have been used for financing and development purposes, legal matters, acquisition/sale purposes, foreclosure proceedings, accounting and/or taxation purposes, expropriation proceedings, assessment purposes as well as many other uses.
We have worked for and on behalf of all levels of government, several first nation communities, private and public investors and lenders, private and public property owners, accounting and law firms, developers, non-profit organizations, and other brokerage appraisal firms.
Most of the consultants at Collingwood Appraisals are fully qualified and trained Professional Appraisers holding the AACI (Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute) or the CRA (Canadian Residential Appraiser) designations from the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC). We also have some junior associates who are working towards achieving the AACI or CRA designations. In addition to the AIC, our consultants are proud members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Real Estate Institute of Canada, the Real Estate Institute of BC, the BC Expropriation Association, the International Right of Way Association, the Urban Development Institute, the commercial and residential divisions of the Greater Vancouver Real Estate Board, the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board, the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board, the BC Northern Real Estate Board, and many other real estate related associations.
Our consultants have anywhere from 5 to 40+ years of experience and are able to provide well supported, well reasoned reports for a variety of purposes. All of our consultants are mandated to carry professional liability insurance and some have been accepted as expert witnesses for court purposes.
In addition to our in-house staff we have a diverse network of professional planners, architects, project managers, developers, real property agents, and engineers from all disciplines at our disposal.
